Sometimes I wanna defend straight edge,
but then I realize I really wouldn’t want to associate with a major portion of the straight edgers out there. Like at all.
But there others that I really would like associate myself with.
So, yeah. We aren’t all assholes and every single straight edge person I know doesn’t give two shits about what you do with your own body. Fuck that whole “militant straight edge” movement type-thing. I just don’t wanna take part in drugs and I enjoy listening to straight edge music. No big deal.
I get why people defend straight edge but I always feel hesitant about talking about it and how I’m not because some sXe are so fucking rude and some of them even try to shove it down your throat. I mean, I do get that with veganism - animal rights, there is actual killing of lives - but not with sXe. Yes, I know the consuption of drugs does not only affect the ones taking it but nothing really does. On the other hand I hate the argument “hurr durr don’t you guys like to have fun?” yeah, like the only way to have fun is to drink/smoke/whatever.
